Review: Dear Mr. M

Dear Mr. M
Dear Mr. M by Herman Koch
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A literary mystery that requires attention. Like The Dinner, I didn’t particularly care for any of the characters, but the storytelling and twists are quite compelling. Koch’s style is inventive, sardonically humorous, and uncomfortable in places. Recommended if you like your mysteries dark and complicated.

Review: Bellweather Rhapsody

Bellweather Rhapsody
Bellweather Rhapsody by Kate Racculia
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Smart, funny, filled with Glee-ful pop culture references, this was a rollicking read. A high school music festival in a snowed-in, creepy, murder hotel – what’s not to like?
