The Katharine Brush Library is celebrating National Poetry Month this April with a special display of book spine poetry on the second floor! Never heard of Book Spine Poetry? Book spine poetry is when you create poems using the titles that appear on the spines of books. Come check out ours and share your ideas for additional poems with us!
In observance of Women’s History Month, the Katharine Brush Library has put up a Think of All the Wonders We Can Do: Standing Up for the Empowerment of Women and Girls book display on the second floor. Wonder Woman shares her tiara this month with notable women like Gloria Steinem, Hillary Clinton, and Ella Grasso, along with lesser known pioneers like American women soldiers and sports players. Sharing these women’s stories not only helps to remind us of our past, but also inspires us to work toward a better future for everyone. This month’s book display further reminds all women that we are all Wonder Women.
I absolutely loved this! If I hadn’t been busy with holiday prep I would have read it in one sitting. 🙂 Can’t wait for the next one! I really need to go back and re-read the His Dark Materials trilogy in the meantime …
