Review: Almost Famous Women: Stories

Almost Famous Women: Stories
Almost Famous Women: Stories by Megan Mayhew Bergman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

As Bergman says, these stories “are born of fascination with real women whose remarkable lives were reduced to footnotes.” Women mostly on the edge of the historical & celebrity mainstream, they are all fascinating in their own right. From aviatrix, and author, Beryl Markham (of West with the Night fame) to Oscar Wilde’s niece Dolly, these stories bring them vividly to life.
