Among the greatest assets of Loomis Chaffee is the opportunity students have to share their academic passions with the school community. The concept of exchanging ideas, which is at the heart of the school, has inspired one of this year’s SLAB initiatives, a poetry reading featuring the work of interested students. Our hope is to establish this poetry reading during the fall term of next year and involve as many students as possible interested in sharing their poetic work. With the gorgeous background and welcoming environment of the library as a stage, the poetry reading would be a wonderful way in which to express a personal hobby or academic interest to the community. Due to the busy schedules of spring term and the amount of time necessary to plan the event, next fall would be an ideal time for the poetry reading to take place, and will serve as a wonderful medium through which students can showcase their work with the school community!
