Review: Mrs. Poe

Mrs. Poe
Mrs. Poe by Lynn Cullen
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Lynn Cullen’s fictionalized account of the affair between Edgar Allan Poe and fellow poet Frances Osgood takes us on a dark and twisted journey through Manhattan’s literary world in the 1840s. While Poe and Osgood express their forbidden relationship through the printed word, the ailing Mrs. Poe slips deeper into despair, and a harrowing mystery, redolent of Poe’s own work, ensues.
