Review: The House Girl

The House Girl
The House Girl by Tara Conklin
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Engaging, complexly intertwined tale of a young slave girl and her mistress, an artist known for sympathetic slave portraits. The talent behind the portraits is questioned 150 years later by a young woman who hopes to obtain reparations for the slave’s family, and so embarks on an enlightening journey to discover the artist’s true identity.
